I had an office 365 activation issue where a factory Office install was conflicting with my volume license install. It doesn't sound exactly like what you're going through, but still could be a solution.This command showed that there was a left over license from office 365 installation - cscript.exe 'C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice16ospp.vbs' /dstatusThis command removed the extra installation - cscript 'C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice16OSPP.vbs' /unpkey:More info here -. To add on 's commentif your users are still licensed OK in O365 (a user can check this in portal.office.com/account ), try runningcscript.exe 'C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice16ospp.vbs' /actin the user's context. This will force Office to reactivatenote this is the same command line you'd use to activate any Office, but unlike MSI based Office where this needs to be run as administrator and can even be run unattended as SYSTEM, this must be run within the user's context as the license is checked in user context straight in O365.
