Where to Farm: Hillsbrad Foothills or Northern StranglethornSkill Requirement: Level 65+Recommended Level: 20+Silver Veins show up in the same places as Tin Veins do. So in order to farm Silver Ore, you can follow the same maps/routes as you did when you were. Except when you’re farming silver, you’ll want to make sure that you mine all the other veins that they ca respawn as silver.Silver is needed by all the major metal using professions: Jewelcrafting, Engineering and Blacksmithing, so it will sell quickly and at high prices on the auction house. A lot of times the auction house will be completely depleted of silver so the prices will sky rocket as high as 50-100 gold for a stack. If your auction house has silver listed for less than 20 gold a stack, I recommend waiting until the price jumps up before selling what you’ve farmed. Update:You can make a lot of gold with Silver, but if you want to step it up and make thousands of gold you should read.

Things you should know before choosing to become a Miner:If your primary profession is either or, Mining is practically a prerequisite. Both professions require materials that can only be acquired through Mining. You could choose to not take up Mining as your second profession, but consequently you’ll have to spend an impractical amount of money on the materials you need to raise your Blacksmithing and Engineering.Mining is a great way to make money compared to some other professions. Unless you intend to take up, Mining is a good profession to consider. The only way to make large amounts of money through mining is by selling and in the Auction House.
Both of those items are extremely rare however, and you shouldn’t become a miner solely to farm them.Your success with Mining will be based largely on how lucky you are. I know people who have found 2 in one Rich Thorium Vein, while I’ve personally only found 1 in my whole career as a miner. You can make a decent amount of money by selling the normal ore you find in any vein. However, how much money you make will be based largely on your server’s population. If you play on a high population server, it will be a lot harder to find veins, and the prices for your ore won’t be as high as they are on other servers.Unlike other professions, Mining is based largely on luck. If you’re the kind of person who loves to gamble, Mining is definitely for you. You never know if that next vein could hold a valuable gem, which adds a suspenseful and addictive quality to it.
I’ve personally stayed up far past my bedtime on several nights, because you never knowthat next Rich Thorium Vein may have an inside.
